Marbles games are really cool. Marbles are quite universal and can be used for a majority of games. But how to play marbles games is as follows. You make a circle about two feet in diameter. Then sprinkle marbles randomly in the circle. You hold the marble in a fist, with your thumb behind the marble, arm strait and one eye in line with the arm. Then the players take turns using your shooter marble (that’s the big one) to try and hit as many marbles as you can out of the circle. All the marbles you hit out you take. If the shooter marble doesn’t make it out of the circle go ahead and grab it. Then as you probably guessed the player with the most marbles wins. You can make modifications to these rules if you like. What’s also fun is to collect marbles then play keepsies, where you get to keep the marbles you win.
Probably the best place to play marbles games in is the dirt. That way you can draw a circle without it getting messed up and it offers the perfect resistance, so the marble you hit doesn’t roll down a storm gutter. You can play marbles games inside and make a ring with string but it often gets messed up. You can also play on cement but like I said before, it can roll down a storm gutter because the sidewalk is so smooth. Another great place to learn different ways to play marbles games is the library.
There is also another game called Knockers you play by letting somebody pick one of your shooter marbles then you place it somewhere on the ground and place them somewhere ten feet away. Then they try and hit it with theirs. You get to pick the shooter marble their trying to hit yours with too. If they miss then they place theirs in the same place and you try to hit theirs from the same place they tried to hit it. The person who hits the marble get’s to keep it. Sounds fun to me.
