How to program android, the way I started

I just recently wanted to know how to program for android because my mom was getting a Android for Christmas. I thought I could program for her because I had the Visual studio for windows 7 phone. But I figured out that wouldn’t work. So a Google search later and a week or so and now I am programming apps for android. Great huh. Also let me tell you though that I have had .Net programming experience so I already grasp most of the concepts.

Also there has been 200 Million Activations of android phones.  Also have been 20 billion apps downloaded.
So you know that android is very popular and has many great things about it.

So to actually start writing go here to get the SDK(Software Developers Kit) then once installed you have that you will need eclipse and the android plugin.  Here is the tutorial to do that.
